What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?

Hemp is the heirloom variety of cannabis.  It is the unadulterated strain of cannabis sativa.  The cannabinoid and phytonutrients makeup is in the amounts and ratios that naturally occur in industrial hemp.  It is high in CBD and low in THC. What is commonly referred to as ‘Marijuana’ are strains of cannabis sativa that are high in THC and low in CBD.  Both are varieties of the cannabis sativa plant.  It is selective breeding and growing conditions that differentiate these two very different plants.
